Slitherine launch new History Channel title
Slitherine Strategies has announced the release of the second title in its partnership with the History Channel.

The game, The History Channel: Great Battles of the Middle Ages, will be released early in 2008, and has been given a whole new game engine designed to suit the seventh generation of consoles.

"The huge commercial success of our first release has pointed us in the right direction," said Iain McNeil, director of Slitherine.

"For us it is a fresh challenge to develop a game that will embrace new audiences of the next-generation consoles.

"It is also an opportunity to listen to the community of thousands of players we established with The History Channel: Great Battles of Rome. We are sure we will match their expectations with the release of our next title."

The new title is based on the Hundred Years War, and features a new control system, allowing games a chance to take charge of whole new armies.

"Our licensing relationship with The History Channel allows us to maintain focus on the accurate historical detail that we always aim for," said JD McNeil, business development director of Slitherine.

"We know how difficult it is to create a game that is not only accurate from a historical perspective, but also allows players to enjoy exciting and compelling game play."
