No Final Fantasy XIII until after April 2010

Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII won't come out in Europe and the U.S. until after April 2010.

A sales expectation report from Sqaure Enix reveals that the next Final Fantasy will release in Japan at the end of 2009 exclusively on the PlayStation 3, but won't reach the U.S. and Europe until mid-2010 or later.

The publisher has already stated that the PlayStation 3 build is relatively finished, and that Xbox 360 production will begin as soon as it is. This could be part of the reason for the revealed Western delay.

Sqaure Enix is already getting Japan ready for the launch of the game by opening its official website.

[UPDATE] - MCV-UK reports that the European arm of Square Enix has contacted them to make clear that the Western release date has not yet been finalised (uh, duh...);

"The launch dates of FFXIII are still to be determined and will be revealed in due course. Please wait for future announcements."
