Ninja Gaiden 2
Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming to the PlayStation 3 in the form of Sigma, but it seems that the blood has been toned down from its Xbox 360 counterpart.
Ninja Gaiden II is coming to the PlayStation 3 in the form of Sigma II. The game will actually be the first title to be published by Tecmo and Koei since
their recent merger, and the game's developer, Team Ninja, feels that it's the ultimate Ninja Gaiden experience.
However, if you watch the gameplay videos below you'll notice that the blood spurting and gore has been toned down for the PlayStation 3 version of the game.
Sure, there's still blood, but there's no longer the spurting you'll have remember from the Xbox 360 game. Sony's community manager
Jeff Rubenstein confirms the difference: "There's plenty of blood, just not, say 'blood geysers.'"
Instead, you'll find additional affects that Team Ninja believes makes the game cleaner, smoother, cooler, sleeker, sexier and more accessible than the original game.
Team Ninja chief Yosuke Hayashi tells Rubenstien in an E3 2009 interview that "we just wanted to up the anti a little bit and make him [Ryu] as well as the game itself a lot cooler for the PlayStation 3 and that's where it really stemmed out."
They believe that the new effects and reduced gore achieves that cause.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma II will release this autumn, with a demo to coming to the PlayStation Store this September.
