Naughty Dog's pitched concept bigger than U2's train sequence

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Naughty Dog is already working on outdoing moments in their very own Uncharted 2.
Naughty Dog has been very open that their development cycle is very much a collaborative process, where everyone in the team is allowed to pitch ideas to then see if they can make the best ones happen. This methodology has seen all of those big moments in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves come into being.
And now, Naughty Dog is not only working on multiplayer downloadable content for their latest game, with the
first pack to be out later this year, they're pitching ideas for their next game. In an interview with
InGameChat, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckman commented on how they were going to top Uncharted 2's train sequence:
"We're Naughty Dog right? When we approach a new project, we can't just make it slightly better, because people's memory of the stuff is always better than what it actually was so it has to be
so much better, so that it really stands out.
"So whatever we do next, it can't just be another train with just better combat or just a slightly better scripted sequence, it's got to be so much more over the top and it really has to take it to the next level."
Interestingly, it appears that the dog's have already pitched something that's bigger than the sequences in Uncharted 2:
"We had a brain storming the other day and one of the designers pitched something that sounded like it might be able to top the train," Druckman commented.
"I would think that what he was pitching would top the train quite a bit, but that's all we can say," Amy Hennig added.
So if they're trying to outdo Uncharted 2 with bigger sequences, does that mean the team is foregoing their
interest in revisiting their Jak and Daxter series and making Uncharted 3? Of course, the team is just putting ideas out there, so it's unlikely that they've made any hard and fast decision on what they're working on next.
In fact, Amy Hennig replies on to whether they're working on a sequel: "Who said we're making Uncharted 3!?"
A couple more titbits came out of the interview, including the fact that a patch for the game's multiplayer, to punish those who quit games mid-match, will be out soon.
Moreover, the
Eye of Indra motion comic pack will include something for Uncharted 2, which only costs $2.50 in the US for the final three episodes. You can watch the
first Eye of Indra motion comic episode here.
