Nintendo announces secret Wii game

ExciteBike
Nintendo's secret new entry in a well known franchise has been revealed.
Last week a
new Nintendo video game was teased by a supposed member of IGN. The game was said to be an entry in a well known Nintendo franchise, though none of us would be able to guess what it was.
That game was revealed yesterday to be a new entry in the Excite Racing series, following the recent release of
ExciteBots. The reported IGN employee wrote this about the upcoming game:
"I don’t think anyone will be able to guess what this game is. I never would have expected this title to be in the works. I was actually excited about it when I first heard what it was, but after more details made it my way, it no longer seemed nearly as appealing. It’s still a cool idea, just not one that anyone asked for or expected."
We tend to agree. ExciteBikes, which was the very first entry in the Excite series all the way back in 1984, will not be a major disc release for the Nintendo Wii, but will instead be made available over WiiWare, including a track editor and the game's original classic gameplay.
You can watch the game's announcement on the Wii Channel below, with ExciteBike World Rally's first gameplay. And a word of warning, brace yourself for the patronising presenters.
