Gamers spend way more time on Microsoft's Xbox 360 than on any other platform which harnesses the internet - the PC and PlayStation 3 included, a new survey has found.
Stat trackers at the NPD Group collected information relating to all internet-based consoles and platforms and found that the average Xbox 360 owners logs an impressive 7.3 hours a week playing on the web.
PC gamers were second with 5.8 hours a week, while PS3 enthusiasts only put in three.
Industry analyst at NPD Group Anita Frazier said: "The installed base of video game systems continues to grow, the platforms available to play games continue to expand and the options for content acquisition have never been greater, especially online."
She added that effective monetisation of a number of types of online gaming is still a topic of "much debate and discussion within the industry".
This week, it was also predicted by market trends discovered by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk that the 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII would outsell its PS3 counterpart by 2:1.
