Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 5 manages to beat Yakuza 3's first week sales in Japan.
After reporting on the
first day sales of Resident Evil 5, where the title sold 278,000 total copies, Capcom's action horror game managed to sell 399,000 in its first week, according to Famitsu.
The number sees the title surpass
Yakuza 3's launch performance. Of course, the total includes both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, where sales were split 320,000 to 79,000 between the consoles respectively.
The title managed to fuel hardware sales, taking the PlayStation 3 to 40,000 units and the Xbox 360 to 14,000 in the week. The release of new PSP colours saw the handheld reach a record 61,000 units.
