World probably about to go crazy for Mass Effect 2

Monday, 25 Jan 2010 15:00
Mass Effect 2 is out this week
Mass Effect 2 is getting released this week and, if you know anything about the game's newest outing, you'll realise that without it, you'll be missing out on what has been tipped to be one of the best games of the year so far.

While the pre-Christmas sales rush for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was much more predictable, given the hype that slowly built up over the year, the original Mass Effect passed relatively low under the radar upon its release in 2007, although still commanded lots of respect.

However, a mass-marketing campaign which included blanket advertising in the US - where the game sponsored a NFC Championship game in the National Football League last night (January 24th) - Mass Effect 2 looks set to dominate the sales charts for the next couple of weeks at least.

Featuring the voice acting talents of Martin Sheen, Carrie-Anne Moss, Adam Baldwin and Michael Dorn, Mass Effect 2 doubtless offers enough to satisfy geeky film and TV fans of all generations, further showing how many major actors want to get involved with the games industry.

Tomorrow (January 26th) is the big day of release in the US, with the UK and Europe getting the title on Friday January 29th, one day after Australia, who have been spared the usual added wait for bigger titles to hit their shores.
