Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time PAL release date announced

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time Wednesday, February 18, 2009 12:30 PM

Square Enix's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, will release in PAL territories on 27th March for the Nintendo DS and Wii systems.

What's exciting about the game? Well it's the first to feature cross-platform multiplayer between the DS and Wii - a unique experience where both of Nintendo's platforms can work in harmony.

Set in the Crystal Chronicles universe, Echoes of Time will feature 3D graphics and four-player multiplayer that can be accessed across the world using the Nintendo Wi-Fi and any mixture of DS and Wii players.

John Yamamoto, president of Square Enix comments, "The release of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time shows Square Enix's continuous commitment to bringing innovative gaming experiences to European players.

"The colourful world of Crystal Chronicles provides the ideal opportunity for all Wii and Nintendo DS owners to come together and enjoy this magical adventure with their friends."

The game's story is summarised as follows:

"A triumphant return from a monster-infested forest marks the completion of the 16-year-old hero's coming-of-age ceremony. However, the hero's joy is short-lived as a young village girl is found to be afflicted by a mysterious illness known as 'crystal sickness.'

"Determined to obtain the cure, the hero steps out of the secluded village for the first time, only to discover a world in which crystals are merely artefacts of the past and no longer exist."
