The only open-world game set in 1940s Paris gets its release date.
Pandemic Studio's The Saboteur will hit European store shelves on December 4th 2009. The open-world sandbox action game, published by EA, integrates a unique art style with a dramatic storyline and intense gameplay.
The game stars Sean Devlin, a tough Irish racing driver trapped in a Nazi-occupied France. Inspired by a true story, Devlin fights his way through the open-world Paris to sabotage Nazi operatives with the help of French Resistance and British intelligence.
"The Saboteur is an entirely new take on WWII action gaming. Instead of putting players in the role of a soldier, they'll experience one man's quest for vengeance through an incredible story and an epic range of explosive action. Every street of Paris is alive with options, every block is teeming with action," said Josh Resnick, president of Pandemic Studios.
"We're extremely proud of The Saboteur. The art style, intense story, and grand acts of defiance against the Nazis will deliver the one-of-a-kind experience that Pandemic fans have been waiting for."
An interesting mechanic called the 'Will to Fight' is also included in the game, where Devlin's progress will empower the citizens of Paris to resist the Third Reich - colour will also begin to seep back into the previously stylised black and white world.
The Saboteur hits the UK on December 14th.
